The Cisco Unified IP Phone 9971 is an executive collaboration device with voice, video, applications and accessories. It has a new industrial design and a new 640×480 pixel 24-bit colour VGA touchscreen display for an easier user experience.
Features to note include Gigabit Ethernet, Wideband Audio, 802.11 a/b/g desktop Wi-Fi connectivity and two USB ports for compatible third party headsets. There are also 12 fixed keys as standard and 6 line keys.
The 9971 IP Phone has H.264 video support for 2-way standard definition calling with USB support for the Cisco Unified IP Camera (requires purchase of Cisco Unified Video Camera)
Other accessories (sold separately) and support include Jawbone ICON for Cisco Bluetooth headset and up to three colour key expansion modules. There is also support for Bluetooth, USB and Secure Digital Input Output (SDIO) devices. Application support includes XML capabilities.
Administrator features include a built-in 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi radio for reduced wiring at the desk and the Gigabit Ethernet switch ports deliver high-speed network connection and PC collocation for reduced infrastructure cost.
The Cisco 9971 unified phone has eco-friendly features, including a Power Save Plus option to reduce power by 90% out of hours and it is made from reground and recyclable plastics.
