Supporting the Nortel Communications Server and standards-based SIP, the Avaya 1140e is compatible with the CS1000, Option 11 and BCM systems and ideal for office workers and administrative personnel.

Features include a high resolution, fully backlit 240×160 graphical liquid crystal display with an anti-glare screen. This supports presentation of customised data and web-based applications via external application servers, such as Nortel Application Gateway 2000.

A four-way navigation cluster with enter key allows for easy access to the phone’s features, whilst voice message, incoming calls and feature status indicator keys come complete with LED’s. The 1140e allows up to twelve programmable line/feature keys and includes fourteen fixed keys and four soft label keys.

The ergonomic design of the Avaya 1140e ip includes a five-position, adjustable foot stand. It can also be desk-based or wall mounted. A secure local tools manual allows access to user preferences, configuration tools and local AC power options.

The integrated 10/100 Base-T switch and IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE), allows LAN and PC ports to connect directly to the network, via an RJ-45 connector. This means only one cable is needed per desk top for both IP phone and collocated PC traffic.

The Avaya 1140e ip also has an adaptor for expansion modules, allowing ten more programmable keys per module. A universal serial bus (USB) port enables the addition of a standard USB mouse, keyboard or other powered hub.
